In the Footsteps of Reb Shayele is a heartfelt initiative dedicated to carrying forward the legacy of the holy tzaddik, Reb Shayele of Kerestir zt”l.
Reb Shayele was revered throughout the Jewish world for his boundless generosity, compassion, and extraordinary hachnasas orchim—using food as a way to uplift, comfort, and connect to the neshamah. His home was open to all, and no one left without feeling cared for.
This initiative brings that legacy into the present through timely, meaningful projects inspired by his ways. At its core, the focus is on providing food to those in need—not just to sustain, but to give with dignity, warmth, and abundance, in the spirit of “לשובע ולא לרזון.”
Through fundraising efforts and community involvement, these projects aim to recreate, in our own generation, the kindness and generosity that defined Reb Shayele’s life-giving people the opportunity to take part in his path and merit yeshuos in his zechus.
